Solo exhibition of Shinji Omaki is currentlry held at Singapore.
From May 18 (fri), a group exhibition, which Omaki will also join, is opened as well.
"Shinji Omaki: MOMENT AND ETERNITY"

Solo exhibition entitled "MOMENT AND ETERNITY" is held until Jun. 3 (sun) at Third - Floor Hermes, which is inside of flagship shop of Hermes located at Orchard, Singapore.
Third - Floor Hermes, non-commercial gallery run by Hermes, has been presenting solo exhibitions of rising contemporary artists up to this day.
This time, new installation by Omaki is exhibited.
"Art Garden 2012"

Venue: 8Q at Singapore Art Musuem
Also, Omaki will participate in group exhibition entitled "Art Garden 2012" held at Singapore Art Museum from May 18 (fri).
"Art Garden" is an exhibition for children and it is annually held during school-holiday. Many domestic and international artist have taken part in thus far.
Omaki will present a work entitled "Echoes - Infinity - The Forest".

Special Exhibition: Journey with Hiroshige
4/24- 7/1
Currently, a special exhibition, "Journey with Hiroshige" is taking place at "Anjin" a cafe space on 2nd floor, in Daikanyama Tsutaya Books.
This exhibition theme is "travel". Hiroshige Utagawa's "Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido Road" and works of contemporary artists such as Tokuro Sakamoto and Syuji Yamamoto, who were both influenced by traditional Japanese artists, are exhibited.
Tokuro Sakamoto is the contemporary Japanese painting artist who focuses on daily life as his main theme. Artists in Edo period like Hiroshige had a great influence on Sakamoto's work specially seen through his emphasis of perspective and picture composition.
Art Front Gallery will present solo exhibition "Long Distance View" of Tokuro Sakamoto from Jun. 1 (fri).

Art Front Gallery contributes to the art coordination of cafe space at Daikanyama Tsutaya Books, called "Anjin".

There are various works of international and domestic artists exhibited at Anjin.
We recently changed some permanent works there and works of Aki Yamamoto, who is currently holding solo exhibition "Cut" at Art Front Gallery, are newly exhibited.

Though Yamamoto has mainly been creating oil paintings, she also approach to space by creating three-dimensional works.

Current exhibition, "Cut", solo exhibition by Aki Yamamoto will close on Apr. 29 (sun).
During Golden Week, from 2nd May through 6th May, we will present exhibition selected works by the gallery.
Focusing on artists who have held exhibition at Art Front Gallery, such as Aki Yamamoto, Miyuki Takenaka who is preparing for her new works for the coming exhibition held from May 11. CHihiro Kabata's work using mirror which has never been shown in public will also in view. Variety of artworks will be presented including Kana Yoshida who held exhibitions at LIXIL Gallery and Yokohama Civic Art Gallery Azamino. Works by Bunpei Kado and Kouseki Ono will also be presented.
Opening hour is from 11.00 to 19.00 as usual.

Shinji Omaki "Proof of Existence"
at The Hakone Open-Air Museum
"Proof of Existence", solo exhibition of Shinji Omaki will be held from Apr.8 (Sun) at The Hakone Open-Air Musuem.
Omaki has been creating dynamic installations which turns space into abnormal world and recalls viewer's physical senses. As the artist says "existence of people is necessary for my artwork", he has been presenting the space as if it takes viewers into the artworks as a part of it.
This time, based on the theme "Light and Shadow", brand new installations of "Liminal Air" series and "Echose-Re-Crystallization" which is recrystallization of "Echoes-Crystallization" exhibited at the Museum of Fine Arts, Gifu in 2009 and nominated for Singapore Art Award.
On Apr. 28 (Sat) and Sep. 8 (Sat), artist talk event will be held.

VOCA 2012
Chihiro Kabata, Miyuki Takenaka
Works of Chihiro Kabata and Miyuki Takenaka are currently exhibited in "Vision of Contemporary Art" (VOCA) held at The Ueno Royal Museum.
VOCA, 19th at this time, has own system that young artists are chosen by recommendation from curators, journalists, and researchers through out Japan and chosen artists exhibit new works for this.
Chihiro Kabara was recommended by Yayoi Kojima (curator), and Miyuki Takenaka was recommended by Kazuo Yamawaki (professor, Kinjo Gakuin University) as exhibiting artists.
Their new works are currently exhibited at The Ueno Royal Museum.
