"Tectonic Model (Kazue Morisaki's Noto Soshun Kikou, Teru Miyamoto's Phantom Lights)"
2017
Hardcover book and paperback book

This tectonic series is a refined work made of books and their string which was loosened to be recompose into a crane shape.
Works by IWASAKI, as well as other works, are salable in Anjin café.

" A Large Sea of an Old House of the Peninsula of the Small Sea"
2017
(Work exhibited at Oku-Noto Triennale)
Material: salt, sashimi plastic trays, found objects on the coast, crafts and furniture found in the house
Photo:Nohagi Naka

What you see all across the floor is salt. In the forefront, there is a mass of salt given a shape of Mitsuke Island. Far in the depth of the room, city scape made of found objects with a drawing of mountains on fusuma in the background can be found. They may remind us of our neighbors, China and Korea across the ocean. On the ocean, fishery boats made of sashimi trays are floating very isolated. The space is a condensed scenery of Sea of Japan which can also be considered as the inner sea surrounded by islands and the continent.
Turning the corner, Shelves full of domestic crafts from fifferent part of Japan would be found. The furniture is like a boat for trading traveling across the tide, or a treasure boat caring different local gods all together to visit the kamidana (a shrine for god of the house) in the house.
The ocean had offered us fruitful culture and resources, and sometimes along with unnecessary flotsams as well, as a large inner sea. It shuffles our preunderstandings and gives us new viewpoints all the time.
